We participate in Euskaraldia 2025 alongside BIOEF

We are joining the fourth edition of this initiative, which aims to promote the use of Basque and will take place from 15 to 25 May.

Biosistemak is joining the fourth edition of Euskaraldia in collaboration with BIOEF, thus joining the social movement that promotes the use of Basque in everyday communication. The initiative, which will take place from 15 to 25 May 2025, will involve the coordinated participation of both entities to promote the Basque language in the field of health and social care research and innovation.

Euskaraldia is a social exercise held every two years throughout the Basque Country with the aim of promoting the everyday use of Basque through a change in linguistic habits. Participants can choose between two roles:

  • Ahobizi: people who commit to always speaking Basque as their first choice.
  • Belarriprest: people who actively listen and facilitate conversations in Basque.

During the 11 days of the initiative, all participants will wear a badge identifying their chosen role. The badge sends a clear message: ‘Egin nirekin euskeraz, lasai!’ (“Feel free to speak Basque with me”). So anyone who wants to speak Basque knows they can do so with people wearing the badge.

Commitments as a participating organisation

BIOEF and BIosistemak are coordinating possible joint actions for this edition of Euskaraldia, promoting participation among their teams and exploring ways of collaborating to maximise the impact.

In any case, anyone interested can register individually at euskaraldia.eus, choose the role of Ahobizi or Belarriprest and follow the updates that will be shared internally.
