To prepare implementation guidelines, technical specifications and a conformity assessment framework for the adoption of the European Electronic Health Record Exchange Format (EEHRxF), at European level.
Xt-EHR is divided into nineWork Packages(‘Work Packages – WP’):
- WP1: Project Management and Coordination (Month1 – Month30)
- WP2: Dissemination (Month1 – Month30)
- WP3: Evaluation (Month1 – Month30)
- WP4: Sustainability and cross-border interoperability (Month1 – Month30)
- WP5: General requirements for EHR systems and interfaces (Month1 – Month30)
- WP6: Electronic prescribing and patient summary in the EHDS (Month1 – Month30)
- WP7: New services for EHR systems in the EHDS (Month1 – Month29)
- WP8: Certification and labelling framework (Month1 – Month30)
- WP9: Telemedicine under MyHealth@EU aligned with the EHDS proposal (Month1 – Month26)
Xt-EHR is expected to facilitate the adoption of the EEHRxF common requirements and specifications on interoperability and exchange of health information for patient summary, electronic prescriptions and electronic dispensing, as well as for medical images, laboratory results and discharge letters in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) solution in the European Digital Single Market. It also aims to develop guidelines and interoperability requirements for mobile wellness applications and to provide a conformity assessment or labelling system.
Through Xt-EHR, interoperability and cross-border exchange of different types of health data will be promoted, proposing the necessary application guidelines for the implementation of new services that complement the MyHealth@EU initiative, defining the necessary integration profiles of EHRs in the European market in search of interoperability in the EHDS proposal for the primary use of health data.
The Basque Country participates in the questionnaires on telemedicine experience, with a view to defining the different use cases, as well as collaboration in describing the national regulations/recommendations for EHR systems, which must be harmonised within the framework of the European Health Data Space.
Work is mainly focused on WP9, centred on the availability of health data for cross-border telemedicine services. The Institute will participate in the process of defining the requirements on cross-border telemedicine under MyHealth@EU, contributing to the EHDS, on the following domains: telemonitoring, teletriage, telerahabilitation, teleconsultation and Online Pharmacy. To this end, specific cross-border telemedicine Use Cases are defined, and the necessary processes for their implementation are established on the basis of these.
