Value-based care

Value-based healthcare (VBHC) proposes a framework for managing health systems by connecting health and economic outcomes in order to determine the value of healthcare, benchmarking healthcare facilities and thereby sharing best practices in care, as well as designing value-based financing models.

This health care paradigm, based on the postulate of Michael Porter in his article “What Is Value in Health Care?”, published in the New England Journal of Medicine, requires, for its implementation, addressing challenges such as the development of methodologies and the generation of empirical evidence to support and/or discuss its postulates.

These aspects are the subject of the research lines of this research group.
