Re-use of Care Practice Data

Data collected in routine healthcare practice and other so-called Real World Data – outside of strictly research or academic practice – should be used to generate evidence of effectiveness and safety complementary to that provided by clinical trials.

Accelerating knowledge creation and transfer, and improving the effectiveness, quality and efficiency of healthcare are among society’s top priorities.

Success in this increasingly involves using the data generated during care to generate evidence through routine practice – Evidence Generating Medicine.

Lines of research

  • The generation of cohorts from data routinely collected in the course of healthcare practice

  • Decision-making assistance:

  • Population risk stratification.

    • Predictive models
  • Evaluation of:

    • Effectiveness of corporate programmes/interventions
