Research Group

Health services in chronic diseases

This multidisciplinary and multicentre group focuses its research activity, within health services research, on the development of predictive models in chronic pathologies for their implementation in clinical practice, the development and evolution of tools/questionnaires for the evaluation of quality of life in chronic patients, qualitative techniques, and the use of advanced statistics in our studies.

Lines of research

  • Comparative studies of interventions in high-prevalence chronic pathologies
  • Development and evaluation of methods to improve evaluative research, including the development of predictive rules and risk stratification.
  • Assessment and monitoring of health status, use of health services and costs of patients with highly prevalent chronic diseases
  • Characterisation and incorporation of the patient’s perspective in the assessment process, including the design and validation of appropriate tools for this purpose.
  • Studies on the performance of health services in relation to chronicity: variability, appropriate use, continuity of care
