“Health Data 25 Summit”, the importance of data quality in health care
Biosistemak attends the meeting in Brussels, reinforcing its commitment to the European health data space.
The Biosistemak team has actively participated in the “ Health Data 25 Summit “, held on 19 and 20 March in Brussels, an international meeting organised by the European Institute for Innovation through Health Data (i~HD) which brought together leading experts from the European health sector.
This strategic event, held at a key moment following the recent publication of the European Health Data Space Regulation (EHDS), has served as a platform to exchange knowledge and establish strategic collaborations in the field of efficient health information management.
Biosistemak at the centre of the European debate on health data
Our delegation, made up of Igor Larrañaga, Dolores Verdoy and Itxaso Alayo, represented Biosistemak at this high-level forum where the most relevant issues for the future of health systems were addressed. The main theme was data quality. The discussions focused on three fundamental axes: data quality management, excellence in the use of secondary data, and promotion of research into the quality of health data. Some of the concepts addressed at the summit were synthetic data, standardisation and harmonisation of health data and possible biases of Artificial Intelligence (AI) applied to health, among others.
Biosistemak’s participation reinforces our position as a benchmark in health innovation and underlines the Institute’s commitment to the continuous improvement of health information systems, both at regional and European level.
Xt-EHR: blueprint for the future of health data
At Biosistemak we will continue to work intensively on everything related to data quality in the framework of the European Health Data Space. An outstanding example of this commitment is our active participation in the joint action Xt-EHR, an initiative that aims to define guidelines for the primary use of health data. This project aims to facilitate the development of a comprehensive, interoperable and secure electronic health record system, capable of connecting healthcare providers in the Member States.
Likewise, our presence in Brussels has enabled us to establish valuable contacts with European institutions and experts, exploring new opportunities for collaboration that will strengthen the digital transformation of the Basque healthcare system and position us at the forefront in Europe.
