Bilbao Exhibition Centre (BEC) in Barakaldo, the Kronikgune<\/strong> headquarters, hosted the meeting of the nine project partners on 4 and 5 February.<\/em> \u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>At this meeting the attendees undertook a complete revision of the tasks and milestones of the past months and shared the experiences of each of this intervention\u2019s pilots.<\/p>\n

UPRIGHT<\/strong> (Universal Preventive Resilience Intervention Globally implemented in schools to improve and promote mental Health for Teenagers) has been running for 24 months already.<\/em> Its main goal is to build resilience in adolescents between 12 and 14 years of age.\u00a0 To achieve this, it has developed a psycho-educational programme for teenagers, their families and the school community. UPRIGHT<\/strong> seeks to foster the confidence and cognitive function of this people group through empowerment in four key abilities: (i) coping, (ii) efficiency, (iii) social and emotional learning, and (iv) mindfulness strategies.<\/p>\n

Kronikgune<\/strong> coordinates a consortium made up by 9 partners from seven European countries. <\/strong>The UPRIGHT<\/strong> programme has been implemented in five European regions: The Basque Country; Trent, Italy; Lower Silesia, Poland; Denmark, and the area of Reykjavik, Iceland. The intervention started at the beginning of the 2018-2019 school year and will end in the 2020-2021 term. It includes over 5000 adolescents, 4200 families and 660 teachers in the five pilot regions. Kronikgune<\/strong> opened the meeting by showcasing the activities developed to date.\u00a0 Along with Osakidetza<\/strong> (the Basque healthcare system), they presented data collected by means of quantitative and qualitative evaluation methods and the results of the first analyses. Osakidetza<\/strong> has also presented the social and economic impact that this will have based on a cost-efficiency predictive model.<\/p>\n

Another one of the points highlighted at the meeting was the dissemination of the project. The team coordinating this work package congratulated all the partners for their efforts to make this project known in different local and international forums and conferences. UPRIGHT’s <\/strong>participation has been confirmed for the upcoming \u201cEuropean Conference on Positive Psychology<\/em><\/strong> (ECPP) 2020<\/strong><\/em>\u201d<\/strong>, which will take place this summer in Iceland.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the editorial committee also gathered to agree on the criteria regarding the drafting of scientific papers and plan publications that will be developed throughout 2020.<\/p>\n

The meeting was held in a proactive and collaborative environment, which allowed for many decisions to be made. These, in turn, will guarantee the success of the future actions\u00a0 planned until October 2020.<\/p>\n
