This transformation is promoted in several ways: encouraging informed decision making, improving care quality and reducing costs. To date, the organisation has worked with over 600 healthcare suppliers from 30 countries.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The <strong>ICHOM 2019 conference<\/strong> is an event aimed at suppliers, professionals, researchers and the industry focusing on value-based healthcare. The event gathered over 70 speakers and 1,200 attendees. Over two days, they shared experiences, ideas and innovative practices on patient-focused care. The high level of their speakers due to their experience, knowledge and ability to communicate favoured the debate, discussion and dissemination of value-based medicine.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In the poster exhibition area, <strong>Osakidetza<\/strong> and <strong>Kronikgune<\/strong> presented the strategy of the <strong>Basque Health<\/strong> <strong>Department <\/strong>to face the challenge of achieving value-based patient healthcare. It proved to be an opportunity to show the main elements supporting it and its current implementation level. The strategy includes Patient Reported Outcomes Measurement and the assessment of care processes.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The elements supporting the implementation of value-based patient healthcare at <strong>Osakidetza<\/strong> are:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>13 Integrated Health Organisations.<\/li>\n<li>The unified and shared clinical information system between different levels and healthcare centres (Osabide Global) and the shared prescription system, Presbide.<\/li>\n<li>ICT tools that promote communication among professionals, as well as between patients and professionals.<\/li>\n<li>The assessment model, with \u201csentinel markers&#8221;, for detailed processes and results (Program Contract).<\/li>\n<li>The analytic accounting system used to measure the total costs throughout the entire trajectory of the patients.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Lastly, they shared several examples of the implementation of <strong>ICHOM<\/strong> standards within <strong>Osakidetza<\/strong>. These standards enable the measurement of patient-reported results. The examples addressed different diseases: stroke, prostate cancer, breast cancer, lung cancer, digestive inflammatory disease, cataracts, and cleft palate, among others.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On 2 and 3 May 2019, the city of Rotterdam welcomed this event.
