The session will also enable the network researchers to exchange their ideas, analyse new challenges to be addressed by healthcare services and discuss future strategies to be implemented. In the same vein, the morning session will offer attendees the opportunity to join different round tables where the future of chronicity research and characterisation and Healthcare Systems assessment will be discussed, as well as compared efficacy and cost-effectiveness in Healthcare. In the evening, work meetings of the projects in progress will be organised.<\/p>\n<p>Moreover, the welcome and opening session will be kick-started by <strong>Dr. Jos\u00e9 Mara Quintana<\/strong> <strong>L\u00f3pez,<\/strong> Head of the network&#8217;s scientific coordination and Head of <strong>Barrualde\u2013Galdakao IHO<\/strong> Research Unit. In addition,\u00a0<strong>Javier Mar Medina<\/strong>, of <strong>AP Gipuzkoa and Alto Deba IHO Research Units<\/strong>, will present the work \u201c<em>Cost-effective analysis of laparoscopy versus open surgery in colon cancer<\/em>\u201d. Both are members of <strong>Kronikgune<\/strong>, the body managing REDISSEC.<\/p>\n<p>It is worth highlighting <strong>REDISSEC <\/strong>is built around three major pillars: the challenge of managing chronicity; the need to have more and better information; and the duty of increasing the research capacity in healthcare services and policies in Spain. <strong>REDISSEC<\/strong> consists of <strong>14 research teams<\/strong> and <strong>3 clinical teams<\/strong> from 8 autonomous communities. In total, over 150 researchers from different bodies, including hospitals as well as primary care centres, technology assessment agencies or regional healthcare departments make up this network.<\/p>\n<p>The network aims to develop excellence in research and innovation fields to provide solid relevant evidence on the best policies, practices and organisational models.
