\"\"<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

The European project, Network for Technology, Innovation and Translation in Ageing (TITTAN), <\/strong>funded by the Interreg Europe<\/strong> programme, has launched the third thematic area focused on \u201c raising citizen’s awareness to encourage healthy ageing\u201d<\/strong>. The purpose of this area is to increase citizens’ knowledge about using the new Information and Communication Technology (ICTs) to improve their quality of life. Workshops and visits are expected to be organised through the knowledge exchange network set forth in the 7 European regions involved in the project. The purpose of these workshops and visits is to improve the knowledge of some initiatives, tools and services which drive the active participation of citizens.<\/p>\n

From 2nd to 4th October, the University of Strathclyde and the Digital Health&Care Institute (DHI) from Scotland, were responsible for organising the first workshop of this thematic area in Edinburgh. The University of Deusto<\/strong>, Kronikgune<\/strong>, Fundaci\u00f3n Mat\u00eda<\/strong>, Osakidetza<\/strong> and BIOEF <\/strong>were the Basque organisations presenting good practices in the field of citizens’ active participation in the Basque Country (Euskadi). Osasun Eskola<\/strong>, the Active Patient Programme<\/strong> and Kronik ON<\/strong> programme shared their initiatives led by the Basque Health Service (Osakidetza) and projects such as \u201cREHACOP<\/strong>, an integral programme for cognitive rehabilitation in psychosis\u201d; \u201cKINEAGE<\/strong>, Kinect game adapted to help the elderly exercise\u201d developed by the University of Deusto; and finally \u201cEuskadi Lagunkoia<\/strong>\u201d, good practices implemented by Fundaci\u00f3n Mat\u00eda.<\/p>\n

On 5th and 6th October, attendees had an opportunity to discover some innovative initiatives launched by the Digital Health&Care Institute (DHI) and the Scottish Health Innovations Ltd (SHIL) in Scotland. These visits are part of a set of actions aimed at exchanging knowledge, organised under the second thematic area. They are aimed at providing deeper knowledge on innovative initiative examples implemented in the host region related to technological innovation (\u201dInside-Out<\/em>\u201d) to bridge the existing gap between research and the market.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

It is worth highlighting the TITTAN<\/strong> workshop overlapped with the 2017 BCS Health Scotland Conference <\/strong>organised by the British Computer Society (BCS). The main theme for this year focused on how to promote the development and use of IT in Scottish health to achieve effective health and social care. This theme is closely linked to TITTAN <\/strong>third thematic area.<\/p>\n
