To achieve this aim, a total number of four on-site visits were arranged in January and February 2017. These visits are envisaged under the umbrella of the first theme area &#8220;Innovation from outside the health system heading inside&#8221;. Among these visits, one of the highlights was the visit organised by <strong>BIOEF<\/strong> where knowledge related to the <strong>INNOSASUN<\/strong> programme was shared.<\/p>\n<p>The last six months have been used not only to gain deeper knowledge in this theme area, but also to start working on the next theme area, focused on promoting innovation from inside the health system towards the outside.<\/p>\n<p>Likewise, at the beginning of March, <strong>Milan <\/strong>hosted the second inter-regional workshop defined within the second theme area. Experts from seven participating regions took part in this workshop under the leadership of <em>Fondazione Regionale per la Ricerca Biomedica<\/em>. Thus, insights and experiences regarding health policies aimed to establish <strong>innovation ecosystems in the health sector<\/strong> were also shared. During the workshop, 12 good practices based on <strong>Open Innovation<\/strong>, <strong>Collaborating Platforms<\/strong> and <strong>Telemonitoring<\/strong> were presented. Furthermore, the workshop participants had an opportunity to visit the <em>Fondazione Don Gnocchi. <\/em>This organisation employing over 5,500 people operates under the accredited of the Italian National Health Service in 29 centres.
