Biosistemak contributes to the first Masterclass of the THCS programme in Paris<\/h1>\n

The Institute designed and facilitated a session on the implementation of health policies, aimed at decision-makers and experts from 15 countries.<\/h4>\n

Biosistemak took part in the first Masterclass of the European THCS (Transforming Health and Care Systems)<\/a><\/strong><\/span> partnership, held in Paris and organised as part of Work Package 5 (WP5) \u2018From Evidence to Policy\u2019<\/strong>, led by Direction g\u00e9n\u00e9rale de l\u2019offre de soins (DGOS)<\/a> <\/strong>of the French Ministry of Health.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The initiative brought together 50 decision-makers and experts from 15 European countries with the aim of strengthening the link between research and public health policy, promoting the use of scientific evidence to tackle some of the main challenges facing health systems.<\/p>\n

Representing the Institute were Lola Verdoy<\/a><\/strong><\/span>, project coordinator; Yhasmine Hamu<\/a><\/strong><\/span>, head of strategy, transfer and impact; and Maite Zabala<\/a><\/strong><\/span>, researcher and project manager. The Basque delegation also included I\u00f1aki Diez<\/a><\/strong><\/span>, a health planning, research and evaluation officer from the Basque Government\u2019s Department of Health<\/a><\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, Biosistemak designed and facilitated the Implementation Lab<\/a><\/strong><\/span>, a practical session focusing on one of the main challenges facing public policy: translating evidence-based<\/strong> decisions and strategies into real <\/strong>and sustainable changes <\/strong>within health systems. During the session, participants worked on a case study relating to the overcrowding of emergency services and the inappropriate use of primary care. Using this scenario as a starting point, they explored how to translate health policy proposals into viable implementation plans in real-world settings.<\/p>\n

A European platform for capacity building<\/h3>\n

The Masterclass forms part of the capacity building<\/a><\/strong><\/span> activities promoted by THCS, aimed at strengthening the skills of public officials, professionals and researchers through training, knowledge exchange and peer learning.<\/p>\n

THCS<\/a><\/strong><\/span> is a European partnership funded by the European Union and coordinated by the Italian Ministry of Health<\/a><\/strong><\/span>, bringing together 58 organisations from different countries with the aim of promoting more sustainable, efficient, resilient, innovative and people-centred health and care systems.<\/p>\n

Within this framework, the Department of Health<\/strong>, through BIOEF<\/a><\/strong><\/span>, is involved in launching and monitoring research initiatives designed to support the transformation of health and care systems. For its part, Biosistemak <\/strong>contributes expertise and tools for the development of methodological and evaluation frameworks, as well as for the transfer of European best
