Representing the Institute, <span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #333399;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/borjagarcialorenzo\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Borja Garc\u00eda-Lorenzo<\/a><\/strong><\/span>, a health economist, principal investigator of the <span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #333399;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bio-sistemak.eus\/grupo-de-investigacion-atencion-basada-en-el-valor\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Value-Based Healthcare<\/a><\/strong><\/span> research group and member of the <span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #333399;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.aes.es\/evaluaes\/presentacion\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">EvaluAES<\/a><\/strong><\/span> group\u2019s coordination team, presented the paper <strong>\u201cValue-based payment: an approach based on the value equation\u201d. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This paper addresses innovative healthcare financing models, focusing on the generation of health value and the optimisation of resources, aligning with international trends in the evaluation and governance of healthcare systems, whilst keeping the patient\u2019s perspective in mind.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bio-sistemak.eus\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/1781861993592.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-20611 size-fusion-600\" src=\"http:\/\/www.bio-sistemak.eus\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/1781861993592-600x450.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.bio-sistemak.eus\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/1781861993592-200x150.jpg 200w, https:\/\/www.bio-sistemak.eus\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/1781861993592-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.bio-sistemak.eus\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/1781861993592-400x300.jpg 400w, https:\/\/www.bio-sistemak.eus\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/1781861993592-600x450.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.bio-sistemak.eus\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/1781861993592-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.bio-sistemak.eus\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/1781861993592-800x600.jpg 800w, https:\/\/www.bio-sistemak.eus\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/1781861993592-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.bio-sistemak.eus\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/1781861993592-1200x900.jpg 1200w, https:\/\/www.bio-sistemak.eus\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/1781861993592-1536x1152.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/www.bio-sistemak.eus\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/1781861993592.jpg 1600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3>The role of data in healthcare decision-making<\/h3>\n<p>The AES 2026 Conference brought together professionals from research, healthcare management, public policy and industry at the <span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #333399;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.us.es\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">University of Seville<\/a><\/strong><\/span>, centred on a common theme: the strategic role of data in decision-making. Against a backdrop of increasing complexity in healthcare systems, the ability to transform data into useful evidence is emerging as a key element in ensuring informed, efficient and value-driven decisions.<\/p>\n<p>The 45th AES Conference addressed key issues such as the ethical use of real-world data, new regulations on health technology assessment, artificial intelligence in healthcare, the impacts of climate change and the <strong>need to generate evidence to guide healthcare decision-making<\/strong>, as well as <span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #333399;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bio-sistemak.eus\/el-instituto-colabora-en-una-publicacion-internacional-sobre-equidad-y-diversidad-en-salud-publica\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">equity in access to healthcare services<\/a><\/strong><\/span>. Collaboration between institutions, researchers and decision-makers was one of the cornerstones of the event, with the aim of moving towards more sustainable, efficient systems centred on the needs of the public.<\/p>\n<p>The event in Seville represented, once again, an opportunity to share knowledge, forge alliances and continue to drive the transformation of the healthcare system through evidence and the creation of value in
