We take part in the conference \u201cThe Research Ecosystem in the Basque Country\u201d<\/h1>\n

The event, held on 12 June at the Basque Country Technology Park, brought together key players in the biomedical field to address the sector\u2019s challenges and opportunities.<\/h4>\n

On 12 June, the Faes<\/a> Farma<\/a><\/strong><\/span> Auditorium at the Basque Country Technology Park (Derio)<\/a><\/strong><\/span> hosted the conference \u201cThe Research Ecosystem in the Basque Country: connecting talent, science and innovation to transform our <\/strong>environment\u201d, an event that brought together institutional, scientific and business representatives from the health sector.<\/p>\n

Organised by Faes Farma<\/strong>, Farmaindustria<\/a><\/strong><\/span>, Basque Health Cluster<\/a><\/strong><\/span>, BIOEF<\/a><\/strong><\/span> and CIC bioGUNE<\/a><\/strong><\/span>, the conference established itself as a key forum for strengthening the research and innovation ecosystem in the Basque Country and fostering collaboration among its various stakeholders.<\/p>\n

Biosistemak<\/a><\/strong><\/span> was represented by its scientific director, Ane Fullaondo<\/a><\/strong><\/span>, who took part in the panel discussion \u201cImpact and social value of medicines<\/strong>\u201d. In her presentation, entitled \u201cClinical evidence and health outcomes: measuring to generate <\/strong>value\u201d, she highlighted the importance of measuring outcomes and generating evidence to guide healthcare decision-making towards more efficient, sustainable and people-centred models.<\/p>\n

A key event for innovation in healthcare<\/h3>\n

The programme was structured around three main thematic blocks, covering topics ranging from the Basque Country\u2019s positioning as a hub <\/em>for biosciences to the challenges of clinical research and the value of medicines in society. Throughout the day, issues such as public-private collaboration, knowledge transfer, the role of artificial intelligence, leadership in clinical trials and responsible healthcare funding were discussed.<\/p>\n

The event also featured the participation of prominent institutional figures, including Juan Ignacio P\u00e9rez Iglesias<\/a><\/strong><\/span>, the Basque Government\u2019s Minister for Science, Universities and Innovation, at the opening; I\u00f1aki Guti\u00e9rrez<\/a><\/strong><\/span>, Director of Health Research, Innovation and Evaluation, as moderator of one of the panel discussions; and Gontzal Tamayo<\/a><\/strong><\/span> , Deputy Minister for Health and Digital Transformation, who delivered the closing address.<\/p>\n

This meeting reinforces the shared commitment of the various stakeholders to fostering collaboration, generating knowledge and moving towards a model of health research and innovation that is more competitive and aligned with the needs of society.<\/p>\n
