This approach to networking enables us to tackle complex challenges in the healthcare system from a global, collaborative and implementation-oriented perspective.<\/p>\n<h3>A total of 30 research projects<\/h3>\n<p>The scientific activity carried out in 2025 has resulted in participation and leadership in 30 research projects, with a strong emphasis on competitive funding and international cooperation. During 2025, we participated in 10 ongoing European projects, as well as 14 projects funded by the <span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #333399;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.euskadi.eus\/gobierno-vasco\/inicio\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Basque Government<\/a><\/strong><\/span> and 4 national projects from <span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #333399;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.isciii.es\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the Carlos III Health Institute<\/a><\/strong><\/span>, and we submitted 17 new proposals to competitive calls for proposals. Overall, this activity has enabled us to secure \u20ac1,039,550 in external funding.<\/p>\n<p>Throughout the year, we have played a significant role in strategic initiatives at European and regional level, such as coordinating the <span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #333399;\" href=\"https:\/\/japrism.eu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">PRISM Joint Action<\/a><\/strong><\/span>, focused on the prevention of mental health problems in vulnerable groups, and serving as vice-chair of <span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #333399;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thcspartnership.eu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the European THCS partnership<\/a><\/strong><\/span>, aimed at transforming health and care systems. We have also contributed to the definition of European cancer knowledge networks through the <span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #333399;\" href=\"https:\/\/jane-project.eu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">JANE<\/a><\/strong><\/span> strategic framework, and to the development of key policies such as the <span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #333399;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.boe.es\/doue\/2025\/327\/L00001-00096.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">European Health Data Space (EHDS) Regulation<\/a><\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>Our research translates into concrete actions within the healthcare system. In 2025, we supported the launch of <span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #333399;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bio-sistemak.eus\/balance-del-piloto-de-cribado-de-cancer-de-prostata-en-euskadi-impulsado-por-biosistemak\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the prostate cancer screening pilot<\/a><\/strong><\/span> at the Bilbao-Basurto Primary Care Organisation (OSI), the implementation of the integrated care pathway for heart failure across Osakidetza\u2019s 13 Primary Care Organisations (OSIs), and the creation of the <span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #333399;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mugitzenarida.erandio.eus\/proyecto\/organizaci%C3%B3n\/red-local-de-salud\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Erandio Local Health Network<\/a><\/strong><\/span>, focused on the prevention of childhood obesity. In addition, we have begun participating in projects such as HOPE4Kids, focused on paediatric palliative care in oncology, and organised the annual meeting of the <span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #333399;\" href=\"https:\/\/eu-jamrai.eu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">JAMRAI 2<\/a><\/strong><\/span> project in Bilbao, dedicated to antimicrobial resistance.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bio-sistemak.eus\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/memoria-cientiifca-interior.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-20102 size-fusion-600\" src=\"http:\/\/www.bio-sistemak.eus\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/memoria-cientiifca-interior-600x424.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"424\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.bio-sistemak.eus\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/memoria-cientiifca-interior-200x141.png 200w, https:\/\/www.bio-sistemak.eus\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/memoria-cientiifca-interior-300x212.png 300w, https:\/\/www.bio-sistemak.eus\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/memoria-cientiifca-interior-400x282.png 400w, https:\/\/www.bio-sistemak.eus\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/memoria-cientiifca-interior-600x424.png 600w, https:\/\/www.bio-sistemak.eus\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/memoria-cientiifca-interior-768x542.png 768w, https:\/\/www.bio-sistemak.eus\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/memoria-cientiifca-interior-800x565.png 800w, https:\/\/www.bio-sistemak.eus\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/memoria-cientiifca-interior.png 966w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3>56 scientific publications<\/h3>\n<p>In the field of scientific output, in 2025 we achieved a total of 56 scientific publications, with a <strong>Cumulative Impact Factor (CIF)<\/strong> of 238.4, and we presented 21 papers at national and international conferences. These results reinforce our commitment to scientific excellence, knowledge transfer and a real impact on healthcare practice and policy.<\/p>\n<p>The<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bio-sistemak.eus\/documentos-interes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> 2025 Scientific Report <\/a><\/strong>provides a concise overview of all this activity and reflects our commitment to applied, collaborative research aimed at improving healthcare and the health of the
