Biosistemak at the 4th RICAPPS Conference, focusing on health equity<\/h1>\n

Researcher Irati Erreguerena presented JACARDI’s experience in integrating diversity into the health literacy programme.<\/h4>\n

Biosistemak participated in the IV Conference of the Research Network on Chronicity, Primary Care and Health Prevention and Promotion (RICAPPS)<\/a><\/strong><\/span>, held in Barcelona on 24 and 25 November. The event, organised at the Barcelona Biomedical Research Park (PRBB)<\/a><\/strong><\/span>, brought together representatives from more than 26 research groups from all over Spain, promoting the exchange of knowledge, the analysis of the main common challenges and the generation of new opportunities for collaboration in the care of chronic diseases, prevention and health promotion.<\/p>\n

The conference was structured around the network’s objectives and work packages, with the aim of sharing progress, evaluating responses to key challenges and proposing new research hypotheses. This year’s edition placed particular emphasis on addressing health inequalities<\/strong>, considered a fundamental element in improving chronic disease care and health promotion from an equity perspective. In addition, the meeting fostered synergies and promoted new opportunities for collaboration among the groups that make up the Network.<\/p>\n

Health literacy programme in the Basque Country<\/h3>\n

In this context, researcher Irati Erreguerena<\/a><\/strong><\/span> was one of the speakers at the ‘Cross-cutting <\/strong>objectives’ round table, where she presented the pilot project being carried out in the Basque Country as part of the JACARDI project<\/a><\/strong><\/span>. Under the title: “Integrating the perspective of equity and diversity in the co-design of a health literacy programme aimed at Basque adolescents and young people<\/strong>“, her presentation highlighted how this perspective is being operationalised to promote the inclusion and participation of the population, especially vulnerable people. The programme under development seeks to be inclusive and co-created with the community, with equity as its guiding principle in order to empower all people equally, regardless of their origin, ability or circumstances.<\/p>\n

In addition to Irati, researchers Maria Jos\u00e9 Legarreta<\/a><\/strong><\/span>, Daniela Mestre<\/a><\/strong><\/span>, Idoia Castillo<\/a><\/strong><\/span> and Nerea Gonz\u00e1lez<\/a><\/strong><\/span> participated in the meeting, together with the principal investigators who lead the two Biosistemak groups in the network, Amaia Bilbao<\/a><\/strong><\/span> and Susana Garc\u00eda<\/a><\/strong><\/span>. These conferences are the network’s most important face-to-face event and a key space for strengthening cooperation among its members.<\/p>\n

The RICAPPS Network<\/a><\/strong><\/span> aims to promote collaborative research at the national level, focused on improving outcomes in primary care, chronicity and health promotion. It is made up of 22 research teams from 11 autonomous communities, covering 90.2% of the Spanish population.<\/p>\n

Biosistemak’s participation in these conferences reaffirms its commitment to scientific advancement, the exchange of good practices and the promotion of inclusivity in health, promoting innovative and collaborative solutions that contribute to improving the well-being of the
