Biosistemak attends the face-to-face meeting of the JACARDI Executive Committee in Budapest<\/h1>\n

We present the latest advances in health literacy and strengthen European collaboration to improve cardiovascular health.<\/h4>\n

The Biosistemak team has contributed significantly to the Executive Board (EB) meeting of the European JACARDI project<\/a><\/strong><\/span>, held from 26 to 28 May in Budapest (Hungary). This meeting was essential to review the progress of the project and coordinate the next steps in the fight against cardiovascular diseases and diabetes, the main causes of mortality and health burden in Europe.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

As project partners, Biosistemak plays several strategic roles in JACARDI: co-leaders of the health literacy work package, leaders of the scientific communication and dissemination task, and responsible for the deployment of two pilots in the Basque Country, focused on health literacy and the design of care pathways.<\/p>\n

During the meeting, our researcher Irati Erreguerena <\/a><\/strong><\/span>presented the progress of the WP6 work package, focused on health literacy. The researcher Yhasmine Hamu <\/a><\/strong><\/span>and the scientific director, Ane Fullaondo<\/a><\/strong><\/span>, also participated and took an active part in the discussions and decision making.<\/p>\n

The internal event provided an opportunity to share progress to date, discuss the contribution to the European Commission’s Cardiovascular Health Plan <\/a><\/strong><\/span>and analyse the challenges shared by partners, exchanging possible solutions and best practices. Among the milestones highlighted was the implementation of 25 pilots in 13 countries, with more than 80% applying the OPHELIA methodology, which reinforces the evidence-based approach and international collaboration.<\/p>\n

The work developed by Biosistemak and the other partners reflects a strong commitment to innovation in public health, the reduction of inequalities and the promotion of cardiovascular disease and diabetes prevention. JACARDI integrates validated practices and common methodologies across Europe, facilitating joint learning and the implementation of effective solutions in different contexts.<\/p>\n

Strengthening European cooperation<\/h3>\n

The Budapest event has helped to strengthen collaboration with the JACARDI coordination team, as well as with the leaders of the different work packages, consolidating a European network committed to improving cardiovascular health.<\/p>\n

JACARDI <\/a><\/strong><\/span>is currently in an intermediate phase of deployment after completing the first PDSA (Plan-Do-Study-Act<\/em>) cycle in the 143 pilots designed. A second PDSA cycle will be carried out in the coming months and a sustainability plan will be developed to ensure the continuity of the pilots beyond the end of the project in October 2027.<\/p>\n

From our Institute, we remain committed to the development of the future European Cardiovascular Health Plan and to international collaboration to advance health literacy, disease prevention and the design of integrated care pathways, providing innovative and equitable solutions for European
