The European ADLIFE project reaches its final milestone with the presentation of results in Bilbao<\/h1>\n

The initiative, coordinated by Biosistemak, held its final conference on 27 and 28 November at the BEC.<\/h4>\n

The European ADLIFE project, coordinated by Biosistemak, has closed its cycle with a successful final conference held on 27 and 28 November at the Bilbao Exhibition Centre (BEC). At this event, more than 70 professionals from all over Europe gathered to present the progress made in the digital transformation of healthcare, with a particular focus on improving care for patients with advanced chronic diseases.<\/p>\n

\"El<\/a><\/p>\n

The inauguration was attended by I\u00f1aki Guit\u00e9rrez-Ibarluzea, Director of Health Research, Innovation and Evaluation of the Department of Health,<\/strong><\/a><\/span> which reflects the Basque Country’s commitment to designing and deploying digital transformation plans in health, which favour access, data management and decision-making at different levels, as set out in the Health Plan 2022-2030<\/a><\/strong><\/span>,<\/p>\n

The role of Biosistemak in the ADLIFE project<\/h3>\n

For more than four years, Biosistemak has coordinated the ADLIFE project, funded by the European Union under the Horizon 2020<\/a><\/strong><\/span> programme. The aim of the project has been to demonstrate the potential of digital solutions to improve care for people with advanced chronic diseases, such as heart failure and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), adapting care plans to the changing needs of each patient.<\/p>\n

During the conference, the solutions developed by the project were presented, highlighting a platform with applications aimed at both healthcare professionals and patients. For professionals, the tool allows the creation and monitoring of personalised care plans, using evidence-based data to facilitate decision-making. For patients, the application allows them to visualise their care plan, carry out follow-ups, answer assessment questionnaires and actively participate in the management of their health, thus favouring independence and self-management.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Impact and innovation in Europe<\/h3>\n

The ADLIFE project has implemented pilot projects in six European countries and regions, including the Basque Country, the United Kingdom, Denmark, Germany, Israel and . More than 500 healthcare professionals and 370 patients have participated in these pilots, carried out in 65 healthcare centres across Europe. The results have shown how digital technologies can significantly improve patients’ quality of life, provide integrated care and promote shared decision-making.<\/p>\n

The Basque Country has played a decisive role in the ADLIFE project, with Biosistemak as the main coordinator and Osakidetza leading the local implementation of the digital platform. This collaboration has been key to the success of the project, and has contributed to positioning the Basque Country as a benchmark in digital innovation in healthcare, in line with the objectives of the Osakidetza 2023-2025 Strategic Plan<\/strong><\/a>, especially with regard to digital
