The event was held at the Cruces University Hospital and the offices of the Biocruces-Bizkaia Institute from 22 to 24 February 2022.<\/em><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>The Gatekeeper project aims to create a common space for healthcare providers, the elderly population, technology companies and the general population where different innovative solutions and technologies will be offered to face the challenge of ageing and improve the provision of healthcare services to citizens.<\/strong> Kronikgune is part of this project in which more than 46 international organisations are participating.<\/p>\n

Kronikgune, together with Osakidetza, is responsible for two use cases<\/strong>: the first is aimed at promoting healthy lifestyles in people over 65 through a MAHA mobile application. And the second seeks to improve the management of people with chronic diseases and polypharmacy through two innovative tools, the My Treatment App to improve adherence to treatment, and the CheckTheMeds web platform to optimise pharmacological prescription.<\/p>\n

The ninth plenary meeting brought together more than 75 people from project managers, researchers, political representatives and healthcare professionals for three days in the Basque Country. Representatives from 13 countries, including Spain, Italy, Greece, France, Switzerland, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, Poland, Sweden, Cyprus, the United Kingdom and Ireland shared the progress and intermediate results obtained to date. For three days they discussed the implementation of the use cases and pilots and the next steps to be taken in the framework of the project.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>It is worth highlighting the round table organised by the Kronikgune Institute where the policies and actions implemented at the community level to promote health through innovative solutions were discussed. Representing the Basque Country, the round table was attended by Marian Ibarrondo, Director of Research and Innovation of the Basque Government; Itziar Larizgoitia, Director of the Department of Public Health and Addictions of the Basque Government; Igor Zabala, Head of the Healthcare Integration and Chronicity Service at Osakidetza; and \u00c1lvaro S\u00e1nchez P\u00e9rez, Coordinator of the Research Group on dissemination and implementation sciences in health services and the area of Primary Health Care, prevention, chronic diseases and ageing of IIS Biocruces Bizkaia.<\/strong> Also, a delegation from the Puglia region, Italy, participated in the debate, Giovanni Gorgoni, General Director of the Regional Strategic Agency for Health and Social Policies; Silvia Visciano, Director of the Office of Research and International Relations of the Department of Economic Development of the Puglia Region; and Franco Mercalli, Manager of Multimed Engineering.<\/p>\n
